Hearing July 14 on Proposed Rise in Gas Bill.(Final)

PNM gas customers will have a chance to address state regulators about PNM's proposed increase in natural gas rates at a July 14 public hearing in Santa Fe.

The increase in service charges is expected to cost residential customers several dollars a month. No specific numbers have been released yet.

But first, Public Service Company of New Mexico will hold talks with two opponents of the proposal to win their support for an agreement that would give PNM an increase in revenue of about $19 million a year.

U.S. Executive Agencies, which represents Kirtland Air Force Base, and the University of New Mexico agreed to meet with PNM to work out their objections to the tentative agreement reached last week between PNM and Public Regulation Commission staff. …
