Eldorado Man's Feet Amputated

SANTA FE -- Bubonic plague survivor John Tull returned to his home in Eldorado on Thursday with a green chile cheeseburger from the Bobcat Bite.

"It was really, really good; there isn't anything like that at the (rehabilitation center)" in Albuquerque where Tull had lived since February, he said.

Tull, 53, and his wife, Lucinda Marker, 47, contracted bubonic plague in early November. While Marker recovered rapidly, Tull spent nine weeks in a drug-induced coma fighting for his life from the deadly disease.

Tull and Marker apparently caught the disease from infected fleas after a hike near Eldorado. …
