PNM gas bill might rise.(Business Outlook)

PNM and state regulatory staff have tentatively agreed on a gas service rate increase of about $19 million, or about half of what the state's largest utility had been seeking.

If approved by the Public Regulation Commission, it would increase an average residential bill a few dollars a month.

The proposed deal follows three weeks of negotiations between several groups that proposed increases in the range of $13 million to $16 million and Public Service Company of New Mexico's initial $37.6 million request.
