Surgery or seeds? One Albuquerque hospital is participating in a national clinical trial to determine which treatment is better for men with early-stage prostate cancer.

"We think it's a landmark thing," said Dr. Paul Anthony, medical director of radiation oncology programs for Lovelace Sandia Health System.

He compared the study to one conducted for breast cancer in the 1980s that showed removing the lump and administering radiation in an early-stage cancer was as effective as removing the breast.
