Drag your partner to the gay-ity at the Vortex, where Howard Crabtree's "When Pigs Fly" is playing to enthusiastic audiences. This outrageously enjoyable musical comedy revue features appealing music by Dick Gallagher and wickedly witty lyrics by Mark Waldrop, both unfortunately unmentioned in the program.

Crabtree was a flamboyant costume designer who died of AIDS in 1996, shortly after organizing this play. A portion of ticket sales goes to New Mexico AIDS services.

Director Zane Barker has chosen his cast carefully. Four of the five men -- Michael Matthew Finnegan, David S. Miller, Robb Anthony Sisneros, and Dean Eldon Squibb -- are handsome or pretty as situation demands, and the fifth -- Robert Johnson -- is the silly-putty-faced comic queen of the group. …
