Laura Marsh, an ecologist at Los Alamos National Laboratories, has stepped out of her role as scientist and indulged her 20-year passion for comic books.

She and business partner, Jeanne Fair, are opening a store that sells new and vintage comics and original comic book art. True Believers Comics and Gallery, 435 S. Guadalupe St., opened in mid-March and is hosting a grand opening celebration on Saturday.

The grand opening plans include an art contest for local children and adults, a costume contest, an exhibition of art work by Frank Cho and Andy Kuhn, entertainment by a magician and an auction of a full-size mural of the Incredible Hulk by artist Geoff Shaw. …
