Some parties have the quality of a fairy tale. One such Cinderella-goes-Southwest soiree was held Saturday, starting with a sunset wagon ride through the bosque at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort & Spa to a snow-white tent hidden among the tall cottonwood trees. It included 200 of Albuquerque's glass-slippered citizens, dancing until midnight, feasting on lobster tails and filet mignon, and savoring the chance to take home a $12,000 pearl and diamond necklace.

The party was the third annual "Some Enchanted Evening," a benefit for Children's and Acute Care Outpatient Programs of Presbyterian Hospital. The sold-out event is one of the priciest (and most fun) of summer. Tickets: $600 a couple or, with a limousine ride to and from home, $750 a couple.

In 2000, Jeannine Daniels, of D'Elegance jewelry store, dreamed up the idea to raise money for the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, of which she is a board member. …
