'The Greek' Always Had Something To Say.(Journal North)

His voice frequently boomed through the Santa Fe City Council chambers.

Charlie "The Greek" Griego typically would start off calmly, then raise his voice to a fever pitch before being cut off by Mayor Larry Delgado for breaking the time limit on the council's petitions from the floor.

But, he would always end with a "thank you."

Griego, 51, a former city janitor who alternately raised laughter or applause from the audience after his speeches and earned respect from city officials for his concern about the City Different, was found dead Sunday morning in an Albuquerque apartment complex.

Autopsy results found he died of massive heart failure, his nephew, Ernest Griego Jr. …
