Says award honors Hispano Chamber

Hispano Chamber president Loretta Armenta was named Entrepreneurial Advocate of the Year at the recent WESST Corp/PNM Entrepreneurial Leadership Awards luncheon.

Armenta said the award was an important recognition of what the Hispano Chamber has been doing.

According to a news release, Armenta was among nine small-business winners in New Mexico.

For the first time, two winners were selected for the group's Leadership Award: Samantha Lapin of POD Inc. in Albuquerque and Virginia Yazzie-Ballenger, owner of Navajo Spirit in Gallup.

Lapin, a nuclear engineer, is a founding member of the New Mexico Women's Purchasing Council and former president of the National Association of Women Business Owners Northern New Mexico Chapter. …
