New Principal Has Proven Self.(Mountain View)(Editorial)

EDITORIALS

The charter East Mountain High School has hired an able principal in Elna Stowe.

Stowe is the third person to hold the position for the school, now entering its fourth year, and she comes at a time when her skills are most needed.

Her list of accomplishments is long, but Stowe's forte is in the area of finance. In her three-year tenure as superintendent of the Moriarty Municipal Schools, Stowe led a team of administrators who took the district from horrible bond ratings to excellence.

Along the way, Stowe made friends as well as some enemies. But a true leader isn't afraid to make unpopular decisions as long as he or she attains a goal. …
