Donors Give $5,000 to Replenish Animas Juniors' Trip Fund.(Final)

LAS CRUCES -- One good deed has spawned some others.

Animas High School's 28-member junior class inspired people in and out of the state when they decided to donate $2,000 they had saved from a year's worth of fund-raisers to the family of a classmate whose home burned down May 13 in remote Cotton City.

The class originally raised the money to pay for a senior year pre-graduation trip, to go to a big city like Tucson or El Paso.

The good deed did not go unnoticed, and strangers -- some of whom did not even know where Animas was -- have replenished the senior trip fund with gifts totaling $5,000.

A couple from the northern edge of the Texas Panhandle sent the class a check for $2,500. …
