Man Faces Bank Fraud Charges.(Final)


A Garland, Texas, man faces federal charges for allegedly trying to defraud an Albuquerque bank of $20,000 in cashier's checks.

Michael Tuan Truong, 35, told FBI agents that the documents he attempted to use to get the cash were fake, according to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court.

According to a statement from the FBI, Truong was arrested Tuesday at the Bank of America at 5600 Lomas NE.

Truong attempted to obtain four cashier's checks, each for $5,000, while using a fake Capital One VISA credit card and a phony California driver's license, the statement said. …
