The Golf Channel? Twenty-four/seven? 365? No way, I thought in my pre-golfing days of 1995 when the all-golf, all-the-time network launched.
Like a Lisa Marie Presley marriage, I gave it a year.
Flash forward to 2003, and The Golf Channel is going strong. Elvis' kid has had two marriages and an equal amount of divorces, but TGC thrives.
Personally, I don't get it, even though I now attempt to play golf. Apparently I'm abnormal because The Golf Channel thrives. Actually, I can see why. According to a federally funded National Survey on Recreation and the Environment released in 1995, there are 29.7 million Americans who play golf at least once a year. …
