Lobo Golfers Struggle Mightily at NCAA Championship.(Final)

It was another rough day for the University of New Mexico men's golf team, which struggled through Wednesday's second round of the NCAA Championship in Stillwater, Okla.

UNM shot a 26-over 314 at the difficult par-72, 7,301-yard Karsten Course, making the turn at the four-day tournament with a 47-over 623.

The Lobos are tied for 20th, sliding from a 17th-place tie after the first day. UCLA had the tournament lead at 22 over.

"It was just a tough day," said UNM coach Glen Millican. "Everybody got off to a bad start and hung in there as well as they could. It's just a brutal course."

The round was marked by several disappointing developments as far as New Mexico was concerned. …
