Taos touts closing of old business incubator.(Business Outlook)

The Taos County Economic Development Corporation is inviting the community to celebrate the success and "grand closing" of the old Taos Business Incubator building on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

For the past 16 years, the development corporation has provided and supported community-based economic development that honors the skills and entrepreneurial traditions of the area.

Much of the work has been done out of the old Smith's Grocery Store building at 232 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, a building that has outlived its usefulness, the group said.

The incubator, made possible by Smith's and numerous donations from others, has helped launch about 100 local businesses and nonprofits, creating 350 jobs for the area community. …
