Santa Fe County, the Trust for Public Land and a local developer have teamed up in an attempt to acquire 372 acres of property that could be used to connect the northern Dale Ball Trails to the Santa Fe National Forest.

Santa Fe County has agreed to pay $300,000 for the proposed transaction that would acquire the 109-acre property owned by the Thomas and Nydes families, 212 acres owned by Lend Lease Real Estate Investments and 51 acres owned by developer Ralph Brutsche.

The property, which is being called the Little Tesuque Creek Assemblage, is off Hyde Park Road and borders the national forest. The Lend Lease property contains the memorial of the 1999 Shuttlejack crash that killed two people and injured six children. …
