Rodeo Celebrates 54th.(Journal North)

* Featuring a few new wrinkles, the annual event has not raised ticket prices from 2002

David Koppa has a problem most people in his position would love to have.

In his first year as director of Rodeo de Santa Fe, he has the enviable task of running an annual event that has become larger than the professional rodeo circuit it showcases.

Starting with the well-attended parade through the streets of downtown and ending with a two-session performance the final day, the rodeo also features the ever-popular children's event of mutton-busting and entertainment from numerous guest stars.

Once again, Koppa said, the rodeo that bills itself as "a small town rodeo with a big time feel," is on solid footing as it enters its 54th year. …
