Museum Receives Altar Screen.(Journal North)

An altar screen New Mexico artists Roberto Gonzales and Ralph Sena created to commemorate the events of Sept. 11 is the Museum of New Mexico's newest acquisition.

The two men, who created the altar in response to the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001, pondered numerous alternatives for the altar's final resting place before deciding to donate it to the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe.

"We had several options," said Sena, 61, a Bosque resident who works with metals. "We looked at several museums in other states.

"In the end, we wanted it to go somewhere where it would be appreciated. …
