Redistricting: Move On.(Final)(Editorial)


New Mexico Democrats now have two bad arguments for trying to revisit congressional redistricting.

The old argument, made by Senate President Pro Tem Richard Romero (the most recent Democratic nominee knocked off by a Republican in the 1st Congressional District): The Legislature didn't do its job.

There's an element of truth there. The Legislature, dominated by Democrats, sent Republican Gov. Gary Johnson veto-bait. The governor fulfilled expectations, and a judge eventually completed the Legislature's work in a logical, equitable way after hearing all the arguments tax-paid lawyers could skillfully present. …
