Dryer Finds New Home on the Track -- 10,000 Meters.(Final)

Elva and Russ Dryer, after years of shuttling between temporary digs in Albuquerque and Gunnison, Colo., have put down Duke City roots.

"We bought a townhome east of Tramway near Paseo (Del Norte)," says Elva Dryer, a Colorado native and 2000 Olympic distance runner, who's coached by her husband. "It's nice to have a place to call home."

Evidently, she's found a new home on the track, too: the 10,000 meters.

On May 2 at the Cardinal Invitational in Stanford, Calif., Dryer ran the third-fastest 10,000 (6.2 miles) ever by a United States woman athlete. …
