Single Parent Was Devoted to His Kids

Mike Bohn, an honored Sandia National Laboratories engineer, was known as an award-winning photographer and a dedicated single parent who had a passion for nature.

Bohn, of Corrales, died Sunday in a two-car accident south of Socorro. He was 58.

Bohn (pronounced Bonn) was a sturdy 6-foot-1, 180 pounds with a straightforward, friendly, upbeat disposition, said a friend, Dan Carrick of Incline Village, Nev.

"Mike knew what he wanted to do and had fun while he was doing it," Carrick said. "He didn't let the little things get in the way."

Bohn was killed when the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle, sending his car into the Interstate 25 median, where it rolled over. …
