Bowler Aims For U.S. Open Title.(West Side Journal)

The state's most celebrated female bowler, Dana Miller-Mackie, is shooting for a record third U.S. Open title when she competes in this year's event in Detroit.

The tournament begins Saturday.

Miller-Mackie is a two-time U.S. Open champion, having won in 1983 in St. Louis and in Detroit in 1990. She was the runner-up in 1993. The $200,000 tournament is the first for Miller-Mackie since an event in Las Vegas, Nev., last fall.
