Sister Hazel hopes to extend fame west of the Mississippi

Most indie bands would jump at the chance to sign with a major label, right?

But how many would sign with a major label then choose to leave by their own accord? For the group Sister Hazel, this was the case.

The band signed with Universal Records and released the breakout single "All For You" with ideas of leaving the cozy confines of the Southeast, where the band gained widespread popularity in the college towns in and around Gainesville, Fla.

Problem was, the members of Sister Hazel began to feel detached from their hard-core fans, known as Hazelnuts, once lengthy tours kept them away from the region they called home. …
