* BLM, PNM offer information on three options

The Bureau of Land Management on Thursday unveiled the Public Service Company of New Mexico's three options to upgrade existing power lines on federal land southwest of Santa Fe.

The federal agency held a public meeting to give residents information about PNM's project geared to provide Santa Fe and Las Vegas with additional electrical power that may be needed as early as next year.

Using large maps, diagrams, slides and a video, BLM and PNM officials explained the three options being considered to upgrade existing power lines near Buckman Road.

The company estimates each proposal will cost $10-12 million. The BLM will decide if the power company can move forward with any of the alternatives. …
