6 Face Immigration Charges in El Paso.(Journal North)

Six foreign nationals who were detained Tuesday after a federal raid on jewelry stores in the Plaza face immigration charges ranging from staying in the country on expired visas to procuring their immigrant status by marriage fraud.

Leticia Zamarripa, spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in El Paso, confirmed the criminal charges on Thursday.

Zamarripa gave the ages and countries of origin of the foreign nationals who have been charged, but she would not give their names.

A joint task force of FBI, Internal Revenue Service and BICE agents executed a search warrant at a jewelry store on the Plaza on Tuesday. …
