State Funding Helps Snag 219 Jobs.(Final)

6 Companies Will Benefit

Six companies will create 219 new jobs with an assist from state in-plant training funds, Gov. Bill Richardson said at a news conference Monday.

About $600,000 of the $1.03 million in state funding will go to Cardinal Health, which will hire 155 employees to work in its contract pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Albuquerque.

Cardinal invested $20 million last year to expand its capacity in Albuquerque.

"The business is here," said Arthur C. Solomon, a Cardinal vice president. "Major drug companies are bringing us products" to manufacture.
