Labs' Hunter in Top 10 list.(Business Outlook)

Sandia National Laboratories risk analyst Regina Hunter was one of 10 "Employees of the Year" in the United States named by CAREERS & the disABLED magazine.

Hunter is a founding member of Sandia's disability awareness committee and has lobbied for more handicap parking spaces at Sandia, according to a press release.

"As I was getting the award I thought I haven't done anything to deserve this," said Hunter, who had polio and now uses crutches. "The others had done so much more than I did. I was accused of humility at the ceremony, which amuses all my friends."

For many years, Sandia had only spots signed "medical" parking, which often were taken by people with medical problems who were not handicapped or by people with no physical problem at all, the lab said in the release. …
