Local hillbilly band strums up some toe-tapping fun for audiences across Albuquerque

Sung to the tune of the theme from "The Beverly Hillbillies (The Ballad of Jed Clampett)":

Come and listen to a story about a man named Dave, A hillbilly musician about whom we want to rave.

One day he was singin' a little happy tune,

And in joined some friends who also liked to croon.

Toe-tappin' music, that is. Snappy.

Well, the next thing you know ol' Dave's got a band

Lots of folks said, "Dave, we gotta give you a hand."

Said, "Making folks happy is the thing we ought to do."

So they traveled 'round town offering up their musical brew.

Cowbells, that is. A washboard, too.

It's a warm Friday afternoon in the dining room of the Camlu Retirement and Assisted Living Apartments on Lomas Boulevard NE, just after lunch and prime time for a nap. …
