The Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council Inc.'s Artists and Craftsman Show will be held this year for the first time at its new permanent home, the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Visitor's Center.

For more than 30 years various pueblos hosted the event. But as the fair grew, the need for a permanent site became apparent. In April 2002, groundbreaking was held for the site at San Juan Pueblo, which now has a gift shop, museum, gallery, sales and display booths as well as the main office for the council's operations.

A grand opening, to which artists and the public are invited, is planned for the evening of July 18.

The show is the largest American Indian-owned and operated arts and crafts show in the world. …
