Music From Angel Fire celebrates 20th year.(Special Section)

It's a big year for Music From Angel Fire because the northern New Mexico music festival is celebrating 20 successful years of operation.

To honor the achievement, artistic director Ida Kavafian and general manager John Giovando have invited 11 former festival composers-in-residence to write special fanfares that will open each concert during the season.

Bruce Adolphe, the festival's first composer-in-residence and the composer-in-residence for 1994, has written "Angel FanFire" for three violins.

Adolphe is the music and education adviser for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York City. …
