Garcia Stellar For Horsemen FARMINGTON -- It was an otherwise horrific display of pitching and defense. So perhaps it was poetic symmetry that a pitcher, Justin Suina, made the defensive play that put Bernalillo on the cusp of its first state baseball title in 47 years.
The Spartans held on to beat Lovington in a 16-15 slopfest Friday night at the Sports Complex largely because Suina picked off the potential tying run, Lovington's Sammie Corral, at first base in the bottom of seventh inning.
Bernalillo (18-9), which won the Class B title in 1956, advances to today's 3A finals against St. Michael's, which edged Cobre 3-2. …
