Q: I found a bee's nest on the side of my house when I got home from work the other day. How do I get rid of them without killing them? -- J.L., Albuquerque

A: Honeybees are swarming now. What you have is a colony that is resting while in transit on its way to a new nesting site. The queen is in the middle of the bees on your house. They will sit there for a few days, maybe a week or so, and then continue on their journey. They are not aggressive at this time and all you have to do is leave them alone. They will be gone shortly.

Q: How important is it to properly identify a species before you apply pesticides? Won't most pesticides kill most bugs anyway? …
