Six Bosque School students were selected as Blue Ribbon Award winners for their commitment to leadership, service and academics. They were recognized at a special luncheon.

John Cummins and Gabriela Mallory, both juniors, were recognized for their outstanding community service work with Animals for Elders, a nonprofit organization they founded in 2002. The organization places homeless animals and also uses the animals for therapeutic visits with seniors.

Meredith Williams, a sophomore, received the recognition for her work to start a local branch of a worldwide AIDS organization that helps children with HIV and AIDS. …
