Casa San Ysidro, once headed to Albuquerque's budgetary chopping block and then to the Albuquerque BioPark, will remain nestled among a grove of cottonwoods in Corrales -- for now.

As the rancho and its collection of Spanish Colonial artifacts is being prepared for its annual Heritage Day celebration Saturday, money to keep the collection in the village for another year has come through.

Sandoval County became the third government entity to approve funds to keep the doors of the museum open for another year.

The county's $50,000 appropriation, approved Thursday evening, coupled with funds from Corrales and the city of Albuquerque brought the funding commitment for Casa to $178,333. …
