Rancho's Heritage Day will feature a day's worth of free activities

On Saturday, Casa San Ysidro will come alive with music, art and history for Heritage Day 2003.

Off the beaten track and cloistered behind the thick adobe walls of a restored adobe rancho is a treasure trove of Spanish Colonial artifacts.

This Heritage Day could have been the last one at the Casa in the village, but a community effort spurred three governments and the private sector to come up with money to keep the museum open for another year.

Normally visitors can only experience Casa through guided tours, but on Heritage Day the grounds are open to the public free of charge. …
