Historic home opens doors for rare public event

Take advantage of a rare chance to visit Casa San Ysidro without an appointment when the historic home opens its doors for Heritage Day 2003.

It might be your last chance to see the casa at all.

The event will take place Saturday with music performances, art demonstrations, children's activities and more.

Casa San Ysidro is a reconstructed 18th-century home and farm housing an impressive collection of Hispanic folk art, textiles and furniture.

Normally it is only available for tours by appointment. But on Heritage Day, the house and grounds will be open for free. …
