City Councilors Pledge $65,000

It's looking more likely that Casa San Ysidro will survive budgetary problems that have threatened to close its doors and move its $2 million collection of Spanish Colonial artifacts from Corrales to Albuquerque.

The Albuquerque City Council voted unanimously Wednesday night to provide $65,000 toward Casa's operating expenses for the next fiscal year, which starts July 1. That's provided other organizations can come up with $130,000 for the museum.

On Tuesday night, Corrales officials unanimously voted to give the museum $63,333 toward its operating expenses for fiscal 2003-2004. …
