1960s Sears gets a face-lift.(Business Outlook)

The silver lining behind the "pardon our dust" signs in the Sears, Roebuck and Co. store at Coronado Center is that the 1960s-era store is in the midst of a major remodeling and face-lift.

The project, which is expected to cost more than $1 million and last six months, will revamp both the interior and the exterior. Construction should be finished by Oct. 10, when a grand opening is planned, said store manager Javier Cardenas.

The exterior will be power-washed and painted tan to complement the other stores on the northeast side of the center, including the Barnes & Noble Booksellers next door. …
