'Topes Can't Get Big Hit.(Final)

It's now official: The Albuquerque Isotopes are the worst team in the worst division of the Pacific Coast League.

Because they couldn't get a badly needed hit in the eighth or ninth innings, Albuquerque lost to the Iowa Cubs 5-4 in front of a crowd of 4,129 at Isotopes Park on Monday night.

With the loss, the 'Topes earned sole possession of last place in the Central Division with a 15-22 record, which puts them seven games under .500.

Memphis has the worst record in the PCL with a 10-28 mark.

Albuquerque had the bases loaded with one out and couldn't score in the eighth. The Isotopes put runners on first and second with one out in the ninth and came up with nothing. …
