A return to the friendly confines of Lobo Field didn't help the University of New Mexico on Saturday afternoon, as 16th-ranked UNLV took a 13-5 baseball win only a day after one run separated the teams.

Just as the Rebels did Friday night at Isotopes Park, UNM's home field for 2004, they jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings.

The Lobos closed the lead to 5-2 with two runs in the bottom of the third but went cold offensively after that, while the Rebels kept scoring.

UNLV led 13-2 after 8 1/2 innings. But a three-run homer by UNM's Joe Salas, his 16th of the year and second in consecutive days, created the final margin. …
