Jury deliberations are scheduled to continue Monday for an aspiring rap artist accused of leading a drug ring in Albuquerque.

Darrold Morris, 36, whose trial began Tuesday in state District Court, has been accused of racketeering, trafficking controlled substances by distribution and distribution of a controlled substance.

Six of the 17 charges were dismissed during the trial, including distribution of Ecstasy, solicitation to commit robbery and tamper with evidence, and firearms-related charges.

In closing arguments Friday, Morris repeatedly shook his head as the prosecutor recapped testimony of drug deals at his apartment and in front of his workplace and how he allegedly brokered drug deals in New Mexico, Arizona and Georgia. …
