Appointee Worked For President's Dad

WASHINGTON President Bush on Wednesday named Roswell oilman Colin McMillan secretary of the Navy, the second time in 13 years that a Bush president has tapped McMillan for a top military leadership post.

McMillan, 67, served as assistant secretary of Defense for production and logistics under then-President George H.W. Bush, father of the incumbent, from 1990-1992. McMillan worked under Vice President Dick Cheney, who was then the U.S. Defense Secretary.

McMillan declined to comment on the appointment Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday, Bush tapped Air Force Secretary James Roche to replace the dismissed secretary of the Army, Thomas White. …
