Chargers Calm Coach Kedge a Bit With Effort.(Final)

At about 4 p.m. or so on Friday, Albuquerque Academy track-and-field boys coach Adam Kedge, standing on the infield, leaned over and said, "I'm a little nervous."

At the All-City Track and Field Meet, approximately two hours later right after the fast, timed heat of the 1,600-meter run, Kedge added: "I'm a little less nervous. Things seem to be going well now."

The 13-team meet, at Academy, concludes today. The races start at 9:30 a.m.

Chargers senior Alan Weeth, who clocked the mile-equivalent race in 4 minutes, 20.14 seconds, passed Albuquerque High senior Alex Romero on the back stretch of the final lap to beat the Bulldog by 3. …
