Save Casa Group To Meet With Chavez.(Final)

Efforts to protect Casa San Ysidro and its $2 million collection of Spanish Colonial artifacts have moved into high gear.

Citizens to Save Casa, formed by former Sen. Pauline Eisenstadt, is to meet with Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez today to discuss possible solutions for keeping the museum in Corrales open.

"If we all work together, I think we can all solve the problem," Eisenstadt said. "Half of the collection is in storage, and if (the mayor) wants to display some of it at the BioPark, then that is more than possible. I am very hopeful that we can resolve this."
