Anarchic performance receives a little structure

Fans of Sabotage, the crazed comic creation of Shenoah Allen and Mark Chavez, might be in for a shock this weekend.

The dreaded P word has crept into the show. That's right, Allen and Chavez are introducing just the barest hint of ... plot.

Not to worry, "Sabotage: in fine form" picks up where the absurdist-influenced, nonsequitur-littered style of the first three incarnations left off.

But the duo thought a little structure could make what one critic called an "irrestible gem of anarchic comedy" even better.

"We were in Los Angeles driving around and Shenoah was like, 'I kind of want to do, I'm kind of thinking about,' and he's like, 'And don't freak out, but I'm thinking about a storyline,' and I was thinking the same thing," Chavez said. …
