Mesa launches CRJ900. (Regional News).(Brief Article)

Mesa Air Group took delivery of its first 80-seat CRJ900 that will be operated tinder a codeshare with America West. Mesa, launch customer for the CRJ900, will be the first airline to operate three variants of the popular Bombardier RJs: The 50-seat CRJ200, the 64-seat CRJ700 and now the CRJ900. The airline recently revised its firm orders, converting five CRJ700s to five CRJ900s. It now has firm orders for 15 CRJ700s, seven of which have been delivered, and 25 CRJ900s. The new larger RJs will be operated in a two-class configuration.

In other news, Mesa reached a tentative agreement with the Air Line Pilots Assn. that if ratified will mean the demise of Freedom Airlines, a nonunion subsidiary launched to fly 70-seat regional jets in codeshare with America West. …
