SAS Group, driven by a "weak business climate," reported a net loss of Sek284 million ($33.3 million) for the fourth quarter. Results reflected a sharp improvement from a net loss of Sek997 million in the 2001 quarter. CEO Joergen Lindegaard said SAS will not issue a forecast for 2003.

Group revenue for the quarter totaled Sek16.7 billion, a 30.4% increase over the 2001 period, and operating expenses climbed 18.9% to Ske15.4 billion. Operating income reached Sek1.3 billion, reversing an operating loss of Sek122 million in 2001. …
