US Airways Regional pilots agree to pay cuts. (Regional News).(Brief Article)

Pilots for Piedmont and Allegheny Airlines ratified a letter of agreement that includes pay concessions in line with parent US Airways' ongoing efforts to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Both groups of pilots are represented by the Air Line Pilots Assn. "The pilot groups felt this extended their chances of survival," ALPA spokesperson John Perkinson told ATW. "Had they not made this choice, they would have appeared less favorably in front of a bankruptcy judge."

Pilots at both of the wholly owned subsidiaries of US Airways Group took pay cuts of between 7% and 9.5%, Perkinson said. In return, they will be able to fly jets in accordance with the US Airways Jets for Jobs protocol. …
