Lufthansa Group reported nine-month net earnings of [euro]344 million ($344 million), up from [euro]65 million in the year-ago period, but Chairman and CEO Juergen Weber said the fourth quarter will be more difficult. The appraisal came against the backdrop of continuing wage negotiations with labor union ver.di as well as concern over new taxes that Weber charged would impose an additional cost burden of more than [euro]130million on the group. The union is demanding a 9% wage hike for the company's 52,000 ground staff and flight attendants.

LH expects full-year net profits in the [euro]600-[euro]650 million range owing largely to one-off gains that include the sale of DHL Worldwide Express. …
