Air New Zealand underlined its support in principle for a regional alliance deal with Qantas after announcing a NZ$319 million ($149.6 million) net loss fur the financial year ended June 30. The deficit largely was owing to costs associated with the failure of Ansert in the first half Excluding unusuals but including a NZ$6.2 million tax credit, profit fur the year was NZ$39.2 million as trading conditions "improved significantly" in the second half.
